Project brief: To install a Multi-room AV system to five rooms with an audio server and other input devices.
This project had already been specified by another company and the cables were already installed; however the clients asked Ugot to complete the work.
Location: Chandlers Ford in Hampshire Client: A private home that had been extensively re-modelled.
Background The client had re-developed their home and had already decided on the AV solution with another company. Ugot was asked to step in and complete the work and also to install a 5.1 cinema solution.
Key requirements were to understand the existing cabling, make any necessary changes and then to complete the installation.
The Solution: Opus 500 Multi-room AV was the chosen multi-room solution due to its excellent feature/cost ratio.
WCU500 key-pads were installed in the key rooms to the ground floor with video to each one. WCU300's were installed in all of the sub-zones.
A powerful amplifier was installed in the main living room as it looks out over the garden with wall to wall / wall to ceiling patio doors allowing the sound to be projected onto the patio. This was balanced with the audio from the conservatory providing an excellent sound experience on the patio.
An Escient SE160i audio server provides the main input source to all Opus rooms.
A Sony 40" television provides the viewing pleasure. The rear 5.1 speakers had already been cabled to points in the ceiling. This can present problems. However, we installed high quality ceiling speakers with movable tweeters to great effect.
